seasons best films

The best of  my films from last season...

Some tips are just worth sharing and this is one :)  Goldfinches are , in my opinion, one of the prettiest and most exotic of our birds and I know a lot of people find them hard to see so this is my tip. Oh, and it does work!
In this very short film I get a couple to come to the feeder but when the weather gets colder they will arrive in small groups and I'll have a "charm" of goldfinches outside my window. Lovely.

The beautiful moments of autumn

I filmed this over one day (pretty much anyway) this autumn. I was trying to make a short film that focused on the beautiful colours of autumn but avoiding the cliches of autumn leaves...I had a big bit of luck finding two tiny slow worms one gold and one silver.... I hope you enjoy..

Watching sea eagles on the isle of Mull and filmed a sea eagle meeting a seal!

What a great bit of luck :) I only had a few days on Mull and we had brilliant weather and managed to get some footage of a sea eagle on the rocks meeting a seal. I hope you like the new film. Its filmed in HD so it looks pretty good on youtube. If you're watching on a pc then 720p hd should look good.

Kite feeding frenzy !

I want everyone to enjoy watching these little films so I hope I have made it really easy: You can
1.watch it on youtube (on this site or click on the logo to watch fullscreen on youtube)
2. watch it on Vimeo . Vimeo is like youtube but for some it plays and looks better.
3. download the films and save them to your computer

My second attempt at sharing the magic of summer, well, autumn really. This film is shot at my little nature reserve and also a spectacular kite feeding reserve in mid wales which everyone should visit if they get the chance.
The first half of this short is made on my nature reserve and shows some of the smaller bug life that I find so beautiful and it's great to film because when you get in close you almost see more than you can with the naked eye.
Remember you can watch this and my others film/s on youtube or vimeo, whichever plays best on your computer. I find letting it start then pausing for a minute or two before playing lets it play smoothly so it doesn't have to "catch up" :)    If you sign up to vimeo or youtube you can download the videos (and others) and they play really nicely.
Hope you enjoy it.

First Wild about film ! Insects flowers and bees

I started with wildlife photography and have set my self a new challenge.... To make a series of high quality wildlife films in High definition that I can share with people for free using the internet. Youtube offering High quality on my films has made this possible in the first instance.
So far I have made one "introducing my nature reserve" 7 minute film. This has been my experiment to find out how best I can make a video that will look really clear and play nicely.
Even though this has worked it's a long way short of what I'm aiming for and I hope people will bear with my by subscribing to my youtube video or just checking back every now and then to see the next progression.
I'm hoping to get much more ambitious with each video as I get better at editing and filming : )
